Hauppauge, NY, October 15, 2002-- Several quality hotels have unveiled plans to upgrade guest rooms with high tech, wide screen TVs having new, sophisticated entertainment capabilities. Through a partnership with Aero-Vision Technologies, high definition televisions are to be deployed, and integrated with Aero-Visions Multi-Media Synthesizer (MMS) system, which seamlessly integrates new digital Video-On-Demand, high definition TV, theater-quality sound, and high speed Internet access into a single, easy to use unit.
The large screen high definition TVs have been carefully selected and installed to blend with the esthetics of the guest room. While other hotels have introduced large television screens to their restaurant and bar areas, the hotels that have partnered with Aero-Vision plan bring choice entertainment directly to the guest room with the new MMS- with a vast array of selections ranging from latest release movies to video games.
The new features of the system, for example, provide for computer-based Video-On-Demand with superior digital programming quality, to fit the busy schedules of the traveler. Channel content is substantially expanded through the use of satellite direct feeds of programming. High speed Internet access is available in each guest room, and in some rooms could include business office suites for the office away from home as well.
Guests will be able to use the Hotel portal site on the MMS to look up information about the hotel, local restaurants, on-line shopping, and cultural or recreational activities. Television choices range from
42 inch plasma TV's to 32 inch high definition TV sets. With the MMS system, full interactive features all combine through a single, easy to use guest interface providing a full selection of entertainment options.
To support the very high quality HD programming, the Aero-Vision MicroNode high speed data communications system is integrated with the MMS at the Hotel. The system uses both wired and wireless infrastructure, providing high quality signal transmission for the rich MMS multi-media content. With the wireless infrastructure added, new hospitality services can be quickly introduced, including wireless roaming, RFID security keys, and other wireless services in the future.
