Hauppauge, NY, July 24, 2001-- Aero-Vision announced the development of a new Integrated Data Communications Service that combines voice and data on a single transmission link. The all-digital service incorporates the latest technological features to ensure uninterrupted service to business customers, using a communications overlay that is not dependent on existing in-ground or in-building wiring or switching. The new integrated communications service can be deployed on a stand-alone basis in new installs, or used as a backup service to existing telephone and data service plans. 

Communications to the telephone Central Office or CLEC facilities is accomplished using high speed fibreless optic links which are integrated seamlessly into the data networking topology. Roof-top communications facilities ensure clear line-of-sight to other buildings, and enable both point-to-multi-point and point-to-point services for link redundancy. The advantage of the optical link is the very wide bandwidths available, and virtually no latency in the data. Aero-Vision has been developing electro-optical and IR systems for over 10 years, ranging in application such as PVHD devices for military applications to short-range data communications in both internal and external building environments. 

The Integrated Data Communications service integrates with the Aero-Vision in-building MicroNode system, which is a high speed, integrated data distribution system supporting voice, video, Internet access and other data services. The software systems associated with MicroNode are designed and developed by Aero-Vision, and contain a high degree of functionality enabling highly reliable wired or wireless data transport.
