Hauppauge, NY, February 1, 2000-- Aero-Vision Technologies, Inc announced the deployment of its secure low-cost Extreme SpeedTM wireless data link perfectly suited for interconnecting multi-media networks at remote building sites together. The wireless link, providing full symmetric 100 Mbits per second connectivity, allows bandwidth hungry multi-media content to be shared between remote sites.  Extreme Speed’s 100 Mbps data rate operates at speeds that are 15 times faster than the current XDSL or cable modem technology.  According to Mr. Donald Burkhardt, Aero-Vision Chairman and CEO,   “Our new IP-based Extreme SpeedTM data link has more than enough bandwidth capabilities necessary to support all current and future multi-media Internet applications.  It also enables us to significantly lower the costs of securely interconnecting individual buildings thus helping property owners prepare for the emerging, dynamic Internet-based society.  Technologists who truly understand the complexities of convergence will be most appreciative of what we’ve accomplished today,” he added.

Initially deployed in New York City, the current 100 Mbps wireless link provides the ability to interconnect buildings located up to 2 1/2 miles apart, with potential for links up to 4 miles apart. Unlike broadcast entertainment video streams, which are one-way, the two-way symmetric capability provides a significant new opportunity for Internet applications, in particular multi-media over IP.  “Aero-Vision’s wireless link is far more secure than anyone else’s,” stated Burkhardt.  “Our wireless solution avoids the need to run expensive cable or fiber through the streets of Manhattan and enables Aero-Vision to be the low-cost supplier of connectivity to multiple buildings within its service coverage areas”.

Aero-Vision’s in building MicroNodeTM wireless distribution system eliminates the necessity to re-wire the building’s hallways with expensive, unsightly and intrusive wiring.  The service allows, for example, full screen, full motion video and integrated telephony, as well as high speed Internet access to be delivered individually to business and residential users within a multi-tenant building. And, because of the wireless installation, maintenance requirements are negligible, providing significant cost savings to the building owner and tenants over the long term.  Aero-Vision intends to roll-out its high speed wireless MicroNode network and related services throughout the New York metropolitan area preceding a national deployment, serving the lodging, the residential MDU, and the commercial building markets.   Aero-Vision is an advanced diversified communications technology company whose technical expertise base is derived from association with the U. S. Department of Defense, the Aerospace and Airline industries.
