PVHD Technology

Aero-Vision develops new products for the commercial aerospace industry, including the Peripheral Vision Horizon Display (PVHD) cockpit safety device which represents a significant enhancement in basic aircraft flight instrumentation and operational safety. The PHVD is essentially a laser-generated horizon line, projected across the pilot's instrument panel, that extends into his peripheral vision to simulate the earth's natural horizon. The laser line indicates angles of pitch and roll across a field of view sufficiently wide that the eye's ability to pick up peripheral movement is utilized. Studies have shown that a laser horizon provides enhanced pilot task performance with the potential for a significant reduction in the number of aircraft mishaps. Aero-Vision's GA lll series Laser Horizon Generator uses an integral, non-tumbling gyro to project a stabilized image. It may be installed by the end user, by an Aero-Vision representative, or by independent trained technicians.

The Passenger Management System provides a new level of passenger and baggage identification and control. It utilizes state of the art digital signal processors to speed up passenger check in, allocation, boarding and baggage claim. PMS assures that (1) the passenger that boards the aircraft is the same person who checked in at the terminal and was assigned a seat; and (2) that the baggage checked in by that passenger is the baggage he departs with at the final destination.

The PMS uses the Aero-Vision RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag technology integrated with the MicroNode high speed data communications system for the secure identification and tracking of personnel and baggage.
