PVHD Technology
Aero-Vision develops new products for the commercial
aerospace industry, including the Peripheral Vision Horizon Display (PVHD) cockpit safety
device which represents a significant enhancement in basic aircraft flight instrumentation
and operational safety. The PHVD is essentially a laser-generated horizon line, projected
across the pilot's instrument panel, that extends into his peripheral vision to simulate
the earth's natural horizon. The laser line indicates angles of pitch and roll across a
field of view sufficiently wide that the eye's ability to pick up peripheral movement is
utilized. Studies have shown that a laser horizon provides enhanced pilot task performance
with the potential for a significant reduction in the number of aircraft mishaps.
Aero-Vision's GA lll series Laser Horizon Generator uses an integral, non-tumbling gyro to
project a stabilized image. It may be installed by the end user, by an Aero-Vision
representative, or by independent trained technicians. |
